Background

Asian Medical Students’ Association Swadaya Gunung Jati Univesity (AMSA-UGJ)
is part of Asian Medical Students’ Association Indonesia which is the
peak representative body for medical students in Indonesia.

 AMSA is specialized as a forum for medical students across
the Asian continent to unite through a lot of activities that are academic,
research, social, seminars, and also competitions. AMSA-UGJ has been participating
in 2018 as an observer and  already actively participating
in many national event of AMSA Indonesia.

Through AMSA, medical students can interact and share knowledge, experiences,
as medical student and there many profit that we can have because
AMSA is working together with World Health Organization (WHO)
and Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA).

1. Increase competency of student resources by forming
a supportive and family-based organization.

2. Making AMSA-UGJ as a form of community service actively
and responsive to social issues.

3. Means for medical students of UGJ to be able to interact
with national and international medical students.

FEATURED WORK PROGRAM

1. Sharing and Caring with AMSA

a) Activity Name: Sharing and Caring With AMSA

b) Purpose:
General: As a form of AMSA-UGJ service to the environment / community
Specifically: As a form of AMSA-UGJ’s dedication to the environment / community
that will be aimed at the visit to the target village, give a little help both material and energy.

c) Underlying AMSA-Indonesia philosophy: Friendship and Action

d) Time and Place: September / October 2019, Kesunean Village, Cirebon City

e) Target Participants: 100 participants

f) Timeline:
– Planning: Beginning September 2019
– Location survey: Saturday, September 22, 2019
– Visit to the Patronage Village: Saturday, September 29, 2019
– Implementation Evaluation: Saturday, September 29, 2019

g) Activity Description:
– Survey social problems / health problems that are present in the
target villages, and make these problems the event headlines
– Conduct visits to target villages with activities providing education
about problems, conducting medical treatment to overcome problems
and providing assistance in the form of basic household goods

h) Indicator of Success: The event can run according to targets and plans.

2. We are AMSA!

a) Activity name: We are AMSA!

b) Purpose:
General: Developing the competencies of all AMSA-UGJ members
by providing training in the form of material.
Specifically: Promoting and instilling a philosophy of friendship
among AMSA-UGJ members and improving the quality of AMSA-UGJ student resources

c) AMSA-Indonesia’s underlying philosophy: Knowledge and Friendship

d) Time and Place: January 2020

e) Target Participants: AMSA-UGJ Members

f) Timeline:
– Event preparation: End of December
– Event: Early January
– Evaluation: at the event.

g) Activity Details:
All AMSA-UGJ members spend the night together and do
activities together for 1 full day and interspersed by giving
material about soft skills to AMSA-UGJ members.

h) Indicator of Success: The event can run according to targets and plans.

3. Academic Project

a) Activity Name: Academic Project

b) Purpose:
General: Active role in improving the competence of FK UGJ students
Special: – As a form of AMSA-UGJ branding at FK UGJ.
– Guiding new students during the initial period of life on campus.
– Increase the competency of new generation students at FK UGJ.

c) The underlying AMSA-Indonesia philosophy: Knowledge and Friendship

d) Time, place: November-January

e) Target participants: FK UGJ new students

f) Timeline:
-Event preparation: October
– Event: October – November
-Evaluation: 1 week from the date the event finishes.

g) Activity Description:
This activity is an ongoing activity which starts in the second block
of lectures until the second block ends, new students will be given
an understanding of the material to be faced, how to become a student
and also will be inserted material about AMSA

h) Indicator of Success: The event can run according to targets and plans.

4. Medical English Club

a) Activity Name: Medical English Club

b) Purpose:
General: Active role in improving the ability of FK UGJ students through foreign languages
Special: – As a form of AMSA-UGJ branding at FK UGJ.
– Channeling the English language skills of FK UGJ students
by bridging students in an English debate competition
– Improve the competence of FK UGJ students
by using English as an intermediary in the learning process

c) The underlying AMSA-Indonesia philosophy: Knowledge

d) Time, place: During 1 period of management

e) Target participants: FK UGJ students

f) Timeline:
– Formation: October
– Evaluation: At the end of the management period

g) Activity Description:
This activity is an activity where every student who has English language
skills and debate can be channeled by entering the competition both inside
and outside the FK UGJ campus. In this case the student is given guidance
in preparing the debate both in terms of the preparation of the material to be contested.

h) Indicator of Success: The event can run according to targets and plans.
